S/S 19 Trend Report

Spring is always an exciting time because the weather gets warmer and the sun stays out longer. Rejuvenation. Rebirth. Everything's blooming. All that crap. And with a new season means new trends so I'm sharing with you my top 5 favourite trends for the upcoming spring/summer season.

Bike Shorts

Bike shorts have been a developing trend for the last couple seasons now. This trend is hotter than ever now and what better time to sport this look than in the spring. Try it in a basic black or go all out in a printed style.

Bows

Big and bold bows were seen all over the runway this season. Adorned on dresses or worn around the neck, any way you want to wear them, you'll be sure to be the most chicest one in the room. Try wearing a bow in a contrasting colour to the rest of your outfit and you'll be sure to stand out.

Tie-Dye

Tie-dye is one of my favourite prints so I am very happy that designers have been creating more pieces in this psychedelic pattern for this upcoming season. Go for a head-to-toe look in a maxi dress or matching set. If you want to try a subtler take on the trend, try tie-dye on a tee or sweatshirt.

Utility

Not only is this trend super functional but it's also very chic. Utility pieces like boilersuits, cargo pants, khaki shirts & buckle belts are all the rage right now. Dress it down during the day with fanny packs & flat sandals or dress it up at night with neutral mules & a clutch.

Fringe

I always love a good fringe moment, but I love wearing it even more in the spring. Fringe has been popping up on all sorts of pieces across the runways such as jackets, dresses & skirts. Pair it with sequins & leather for a look that screams extra or with a denim for a more subdued look.
