Pre-Fall 2016 Trend Report

Fall is fast approaching, so I decided to put together a pre-fall trend report to show you my favourite trends for this upcoming season. I hope this guide will act as a style inspiration when choosing your key transitional pieces this fall. As a side note, before you break out your fall wardrobe, don't forget to savour those last days of summer! (we still have 3-weeks left!)

1. Animal print

This trend can be found on coats, pants, skirts, dresses, accessories in so many stores this season. If your not too crazy about this trend, but are willing to try it, keep the rest of your outfit simple. If your super on board with this trend be a little more daring and mix it with another print, just be sure to keep the prints in the same colour or size.

2. Shearling

Shearling coats have been seen all over the runway and streets across the world. This jacket is such a great statement piece for fall. I would pair one with flared jeans and a turtleneck for that seventies vibe or a printed neck-tie dress with tall boots.

3. Slip dresses

This 90's trend is back and I couldn't be more excited! If you've ever dreamed of wearing your sleepwear to work, now is your chance. Not only will you be the most stylish one at the office, but you'll be super comfortable all day. Just be sure to wear it with a blouse underneath or a blazer overtop to keep it office appropriate,

4. Denim on denim

You can expect the canadian tuxedo (or texas tuxedo if you're american) to be popping up everywhere this fall. Whether you're wearing a denim jacket with a button-up denim skirt or a light denim shirt with some distressed skinny denim. I like mixing and matching my denim in different washes. Wear a lighter wash denim piece on the bottom if you want to emphasize the lower-half of your body and if you want to emphasize the upper-half of your body wear a lighter wash on top.

5. Pleated metallic skirts

Pleated metallic skirts are going to be a hot commodity this fall. I love how versatile they are, you can wear them to the office during the day or a party in the evening. For daytime, pair yours with a graphic tee, bomber jacket and slip-on mules. For night time, wear it with a cropped top, sky-high stilettos, and an evening clutch.
